Jordan 2008 Chardonnay Russian River Valley

I traditionally like to share with you not only how much I enjoy a wine, but also where we were when we drank it......!  So here goes......We were down in Boston Saturday night and ate at a great restaurant, Sibling Rivalry – hence brothers who have created a dualing menu, located in the south end.  For those of you from the Boston area or are just visiting and haven’t yet tried this restaurant, you are missing a great dining experience.  Well, that being said, there were eight of us and traditionally we always order a couple bottles of red and whites.  For this review, all my focus is on this wonderful Chardonnay that we drank.  The 2008 Jordan Chardonnay....wow...it was very delicious.    So light and fresh!  A little more on the pricey side, but worth every penny.   I had it with seared tuna and my friend had seared scallops and for both of us..... It did the trick.  Enjoy everyone, and if you get a good price on this bottle, I’d buy a case!  PS, 6 out of the 8 of us ordered from David’s side of the menu! Sorry Bob, maybe next time.  J

Winemakers notes:  The 2008 Jordan Chardonnay is marked by understated elegance. Bright, straw-green colored hue. The clean freshness of the nose opens up with vivid fruit aromas of green apples, pears and peach, and a touch of quince and kiwi. On the palate, similar notes are evident: bright fruits braced by crisp acidity and a lingering minerality. The finish brings the fruit, balance and finesse of this wine full circle

Penfolds Koonunga Hill 2009 Shiraz Cabernet

This Shiraz Cabernet is bold, oaky, spicy and dark.  This Australian wine is a great value a crowd pleaser and a wonderful tasting red blend!  Sooooo cheap.

CooperPoint 2009 Family Reserve Chardonnay Santa Lucia Highlands

Chardonnay being a wonderful tasting, versatile drink can go with many different types of dishes. I especially enjoy this chardonnay with curry dishes. CooperPoint 2009 Chardonnay has a melon taste and you can definitely sense a slight hint of oak. In the mid range of pricing, $15.99 but you really can enjoy this with many different types of meals ranging from pork, seafood and curry dishes. I definitely gave this California wine two thumbs up.  :0)

2007 Camillo Trebbiano D'Abruzzo

We received this bottle from one of our wine of the month club specials. It was funny in the way that the more you drank it, you gained a much stronger appreciation for this refreshing wine!   I thought that the acidity was quite strong and you can absolutely taste the blend of citrus fruits.  Usually not the type of wine I gravitate to, but I am glad I did!  An easy to drink, light, dry wine.   A pasta or salad would be an ideal compliment.

il Pino 2010 Pinot Grigio

We enjoyed this wine while dining at a restaurant on the River in Upstate New York!  (St. Lawrence River that is).   It was served very cold and we enjoyed the light, fresh, fruity taste. The day was in the high 80's and we were sitting right on a terrace overlooking the River.  Our lobster salad matched perfectly with this wine. Go For It!
