BIG merlot…. - 2006 Cameron Hughes, Lot 69, Calaveras County, Merlot

BIG merlot…. Medium purple to dark red in the glass. Full bodied with lots of fruit and complexity.. still evolving in the bottle. Great mouthfeel and completely balanced despite a 15% abv. Cameron Hughes is not a vineyard nor a winery. It purchases barrel aged wines from premium suppliers and then bottles and/or blends and bottles. I would keep an eye to this producer if Lot 69 is any indication of value versus price. Highly recommended.
