Cheap, with some modest charms 2007 Alice White Siraz

Hello, Alice. It's not so nice to meet you. My first impression of you? You're harsh and unrefined. You smell predominently of rubbing alcohol. But you're a cheap date, Alice, and not bad-looking; so dark as to be opaque. Maybe you'll open up over the course of the evening and reveal something intriguing about yourself. You're respectul, having earned a Silver Medal at the 2008 Los Angeles International Wine and Spirits Competition. Maybe I just don't "get" you. I cut our date short, but just before parting, you reveal a spiciness that impels me pick you up for a second date the next evening. Day Two (same bottle): Your spice is nice. And what's that I detect? Some rasperry preserves with pectin? A hint of clove? Prune? I must say, Alice, you ended up all right in my book. Perhaps we'll meet again. But I'd like to play the field, OK?
