If you have never had an Amarone before you are in for quite a treat - 2004 Conte Di Bregonzo Amarone

Tagged:  •    •

If you have never had an Amarone (meaning: “big bitter” in Italian) before you are in for quite a treat. This wine is made from partially dried grapes; that’s right I said dried grapes. The flavor is very unique and especially interesting with a traditional holiday meal. I like it with turkey and all the trimmings.

Amarone can range in price from the low teens to upward of $100 a bottle. This cheap wino has never had the upward priced wine, and finds the $15 bottle from Conte Di Bregonzo to be more than adequate. The label from this winery is interesting and yet another wine you can tell your friends was over $20.

The color a deep red, and the taste is a total contradiction with both a sweet fruity and bitter edge.
