Somewhere in between new and old world - 2005 Sebastiani Vineyards, Sonoma Cask, Cabernet Sauvignon

Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery offers very economical to expensive wines … all very consistent with good price to quality ratio. This is one of their entry level wines. Very dark garnet red in color with plenty but not overpowering fruit. Little if any herbaceous aromas, more blackberry with a hint of vanilla and somewhat of a maple or brown sugar component. Somewhere in between new and old world. Not a wine that will amaze, but a very good every day quaff that is consistent from vintage to vintage, and that goes very well with many basic foods. Recommended (when you move into their Alexander Valley offerings .. time for highly recommended!)
