2000 Groth Cabernet Sauvignon

This was the 4th bottle of wine opened during the evening mentioned above, and the fact that I remember it speaks volumes about the character of this wine. This is a SERIOUS cabernet. Deep and delicious and substantial, the tannins were noticeable on the sides of the tongue, suggesting a desire for some cellar life. But this was a treat, big enough to handle fried plantains and chicken paillard and mussels and warm spinach salad.
