Greg Norman Estate, Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot, 2000, Limestone Coast
I've tried this wine twice. The first time was when I was eating Filet Mignon. The second time I was eating Steak Diane, with a brown mushroom sauce. Both times I started the meal by smelling the wine (excellent aroma), then said to myself that I need to think about and remember how it tastes as the meal goes on. Both times when the meal was done, I thought about the wine and couldn't remember how it tasted. The first time I thought - Oh, a wine you can easily forget. The second time around I thought, interesting, this wine had a great nose, was something that I wanted to focus on while eating, but it seemed to match the food so well, was such a great compliment to the meal, that I never even noticed it. So I've totally flipped on my opinion of this wine. This is a great drinking wine. I can't wait to try this one on a cold night sitting near the fire. I expect that it will be a very wonderful tasting sipping wine. If so, this will be my newest favorite wine, and at such a reasonable price.
